Taila Kalpana is one of the 'Sneha Kalpana procedures' that is widely used and the most preferred dosage form of the Ayurvedic system of medicine. It is followed to produce an oleaginous medicament. Taila Kalpana involves two methods of preparation, Agnipakavidhi and Adityapakavidhi. Agnipakavidhi (Heating through Fire) is a method where the fire is used as the source to prepare the medicine Adityapakavidhi (Heating through sunlight) also known as “Surya Paka/ Bhanu Paka”, where the preparation is subjected to intense heat from Sun rays until the Taila Siddhi Lakshana (Tests of perfection). ADITYAPAKA TAILAM is also prepared through this process.

Aditya Paka Sneha is used externally especially in skin disorders as this Sneha absorbs the UV rays from the sun. The sun’s Ultraviolet rays are made up of UVA and UVB rays.

UVB rays are more effective at treating skin disorders because they penetrate more and help with rapid skin shedding and growth. It helps to reduce inflammation of the skin. Aditya Paka tail is more beneficial in treating Skin disorders. It can be used only for external purposes.

Taila-Tila taila (Seasome oil)-1/2 prastha Kalka dravya-Manjistha, Triphala, Laksha, Haridra, Manashila, Haratala, Gandhaka is highly useful in PAMA.

Adityapaka Tailam is very effective in scabies, eczema, and cutaneous eruption.
